Amanda Hardwick

Director – Two Small Blondes

After graduating from a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in Drama (theatre studies) at the Queensland University of Technology in 2003, Amanda has worked as an actor, and has acted in various theatre productions, short films, commercials and television programs. Since graduating from her drama degree, Amanda returned to study film at the Queensland University of Technology and recently (2005) graduated with distinction from a graduate diploma in Creative Industries, majoring in Film and Television Production. It was during this time, that Amanda came to realise how very powerful film was as a means of telling ‘untold’ stories. Amanda hopes to combine her passion for acting with her dedication to understanding and healing the human condition, by utilising the compelling medium that is film.

Amanda’s career highlights thus far include – performing in the lead role of the short film, ‘Brace Yourself’ which was a finalist in the International Film Festival in Buenos Aires – Argentina. Also, Amanda received the “Best Female Actress” award at the Queensland New Film-maker awards in 2006 for her performance in the film, ‘Nine Minutes to Live.

Amanda is very passionate about young people, and currently teaches film-making courses for children at Two Small Blondes.  Amanda hopes to create the worlds first ever movie studios for young people.
